Why MoveMe?
MoveMe is a user-friendly introduction to dance, a physical and creative activity for all ages. No formal dance training is required. We call our work in the community MoveMe Studio. This means we take the fun of a live event and bring it into local venues for smaller groups of people. It is therefore often used in community centres as a weekly or monthly class.
What we offer
We run sessions for youth clubs, after school groups and the over 50s because our routines suit all ages. Sessions usually last for an hour and draw on different dance styles and musical influences from Queen to Dean (Martin). We adapt to group ability and include a general warm-up or chair-based exercises if required. We’re currently running MoveMe Studio in north London and Woking. Nevertheless, our friendly team can offer sessions to new groups in different areas of the UK throughout the year or within a specific project timeframe.
MoveMe Studio can also be used by event managers and promoters as an Outreach programme in advance of a public live event. The participants on the Outreach programme effectively become the core group on the event day encouraging others to join in the fun. This is particularly relevant for intergenerational programming within Arts Festivals and Family Fun Days. Plus your community gets to reap the rewards of the enormous health benefits!
Therefore if you have (or want to form) a group who loves to dance, whatever your age, then we’d love to hear from you! All we need is a suitable space to get your dance class party started. Please give us a hello@movemedance.co.uk
